At the Art Institute of Chicago, they preserve "Ranma" of "Ho-o-den" from the World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893. Ho-o-den was a landmark at the Japanese pavilion. At this world expo, Japan successfully advertised themselves to the world.

Unfortunately, the actual building of "Ho-o-den" was burned due to fire in 1946 1, and "Ranma" is the only thing we have now. However, we can still visit the expo site. It is now called "Garden of the Phoenix", which is a small but restored Japanese garden.
